FAQ

1. What types of treatments do you offer at Full Swing Healthcare?

We offer chiropractic adjustments, soft tissue therapy (including scraping and cupping), acupuncture, massage therapy, and shockwave therapy using StemWave. Each treatment is customized based on your needs—whether you're recovering from an injury, dealing with chronic pain, or simply want to feel and function better.

2. What conditions do you treat?

We treat a wide range of conditions including:

  • Acute and chronic back or neck pain

  • Auto accident injuries (including whiplash and disc trauma)

  • TMJ dysfunction and cervicogenic headaches

  • Sciatica, joint pain, and nerve irritation

  • Sports injuries and soft tissue strains

  • Overuse injuries and postural dysfunction

  • Veterans' musculoskeletal issues stemming from service

3. How does chiropractic care help?

Chiropractic adjustments restore proper movement in your joints, improve biomechanics, reduce nerve irritation, and help your body function more efficiently. This often means less pain, improved range of motion, and quicker recovery from injuries.

4. What’s special about your approach to soft tissue treatment?

We don’t just adjust and move on. We dig into the soft tissues with techniques like scraping (IASTM), cupping, and manual muscle release to restore tissue mobility, reduce inflammation, and improve circulation. It’s especially effective for athletes, postural dysfunction, and chronic tightness.

5. What’s StemWave and how does it work?

StemWave is a type of regenerative shockwave therapy that sends acoustic pressure pulses into the tissue. It helps reduce inflammation, stimulate blood flow, and accelerate healing by triggering a cellular repair response. We often use it on joints, tendons, and areas of chronic strain. It’s non-invasive and can be a game-changer when nothing else has worked.

6. What is acupuncture used for in your clinic?

We use acupuncture to support pain relief, improve energy flow, and promote healing. It’s particularly helpful for tension, headaches, stress-related conditions, chronic pain, and musculoskeletal injuries. It complements chiropractic and soft tissue work very well.

7. Do you treat car accident injuries?

Yes. We specialize in auto accident injury care, including whiplash, spinal trauma, disc injuries, and soft tissue damage. We work quickly to reduce pain, restore function, and provide all necessary medical records within 24–48 hours to support your case and settlement process.

8. What kind of patients do you commonly treat?

We serve a wide range of patients—from athletes and active adults to injured workers, veterans, and families. If you’re looking to recover, prevent injury, or just move better, we can help.

9. How do you help veterans?

We’re proud VA Community Care providers. Veterans can access chiropractic, acupuncture, and massage therapy through their VA referral. Many of our veteran patients are dealing with long-term service-related issues, and our goal is to help them feel heard and healed—not just managed.

10. Do I need X-rays or imaging before treatment?

Not always. We evaluate each patient individually and only refer for imaging if we feel it’s necessary based on your exam or history. We don’t believe in over-imaging or over-treating—just what’s right for you.

11. Do you provide transportation?

Yes, we offer Uber Health rides within a 15-mile radius of the clinic to help you get to and from appointments, especially after auto accidents or if mobility is limited.

12. What makes Full Swing Healthcare different?

We’re not a factory clinic. You won’t be rushed in and out. We take the time to evaluate you thoroughly, treat you with intention, and explain what we’re doing and why. You’ll always leave with a plan and a purpose.

13. What equipment do you use in your treatments?

  • Chiropractic tables (including drop and flexion-distraction)

  • StemWave acoustic therapy system

  • Graston-style tools for soft tissue scraping

  • Silicone and glass cups for myofascial decompression

  • Electric stimulation and heat therapy (when appropriate)

  • Acupuncture needles

  • Massage therapy tools when indicated

Each tool is used intentionally—not just because we have it, but because it helps get results.

14. How long does it take to feel better?

  • It depends on the severity and type of condition, but many people start to feel relief within the first few visits. Chronic or complex issues take longer, and we’ll always be upfront with you about your expected recovery timeline.

15. Do you accept insurance?

  • We work with many insurance providers, including auto injury claims and VA referrals. If you’re unsure, give us a call and we’ll verify your benefits. For those without insurance, we also have affordable cash options.

16. How quickly can I get records for my attorney or case manager?

  • We provide medical documentation and SOAP notes within 24–48 hours. We know how important it is to keep your case moving, especially when you're in pain and waiting on settlement.

17. What is scraping, and does it hurt?

  • Scraping (also known as Gua Sha or IASTM) uses a tool to break down scar tissue and adhesions in tight muscles. It can feel intense—like a deep massage—but most patients find it relieving. You may get some redness or light bruising, which is totally normal.

18. Is cupping safe?

  • Yes, cupping is safe when performed by trained professionals. It helps improve circulation, reduce muscle tension, and stimulate healing. It can leave temporary red or purple marks—that’s just blood flow increasing to the area, not bruising.

19. What’s the connection between TMJ and headaches?

  • TMJ dysfunction often causes cervicogenic headaches, which come from tension in the neck and jaw. We assess jaw movement, surrounding musculature, and posture. With proper treatment—adjustments, soft tissue work, and sometimes acupuncture—patients often see huge relief in headache frequency and intensity.

20. Do you take walk-ins?

  • We recommend scheduling ahead, especially for new patients, but we do our best to accommodate same-day appointments when available. Call us and we’ll fit you in if we can.

21. What ages do you treat?

  • We treat all ages—from teens dealing with sports injuries to seniors with joint pain. Each plan is tailored for safety and effectiveness based on the individual’s needs and comfort level.

22. Can chiropractic care help with stress or sleep?

  • Yes, when your nervous system is functioning better and your body is in less pain, sleep and stress levels often improve. Acupuncture and soft tissue work can also help downregulate the nervous system for deep relaxation.

23. What should I wear to my appointment?

  • Wear something comfortable that allows access to your back, neck, or any area we’ll be working on. Athletic wear is ideal.

24. Do I need a referral to start care?

  • No referral is needed to start care with us, unless you are coming through the VA Community Care program—in which case, the VA will submit the referral directly.

25. Where is your clinic located?

  • We’re at 13770 Beach Blvd #4, Jacksonville, FL 32224—easily accessible and centrally located for those on the Southside or beaches.
